Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

EU Legal Pages Generator ("the App") is developed by Swedish Developer ("we", "us"). This privacy policy explains how the App handles data when installed on a Shopify store.

2. Data we collect from merchants

When you install EU Legal Pages Generator and complete the setup wizard, the App stores the following data on our servers:

  • Shop domain (to identify your store)
  • Company information entered in the wizard: company name, address, email, phone, registration number, VAT number, business type, and industry
  • Operational settings: payment methods, shipping methods, cookie purposes, third-party data processors, and data retention period
  • GPSR product safety details (manufacturer/importer role and contact information) if entered
  • Generated page metadata: page type, Shopify page ID and handle, publish status, and content hash
  • App configuration: selected countries, footer settings, and branding logo URL (Business plan)
  • Current subscription plan

3. Data collected from store visitors

EU Legal Pages Generator does NOT collect any personal data from your store visitors. The App generates static legal page content that is published as native Shopify Pages. No visitor data is processed or stored by this App.

4. Shopify API access

The App uses the Shopify GraphQL Admin API to:

  • Create, update, and delete pages in your Shopify store
  • Set shop metafields used by the theme footer extension
  • Upload branding logo files (Business plan, via Shopify Files API)

The App does not read customer data, orders, or financial information.

5. Theme App Extension

The App includes a Liquid theme extension ("Legal Pages Footer") that displays links to your generated legal pages in your store's footer. This extension reads only a shop metafield set by the App — it does not collect or transmit any visitor data.

6. Data retention

  • App settings and generated page records: Retained while the App is installed. All data is deleted within 48 hours of uninstallation.
  • Branding logo: Stored on Shopify's CDN. Deleted via Shopify Files API on uninstallation.

7. Data location

All App data is stored on servers located within the European Union.

8. Third-party services

The App does not share merchant data with any third-party services, with the exception of Shopify's own APIs which are required for the App to function. For information about how Shopify processes data, see Shopify's Privacy Policy.

9. GDPR compliance

We process merchant data as a Data Processor under GDPR. Merchants remain the Data Controller for their store and their customers. Company information entered in the wizard is used solely to generate the merchant's own legal pages and is not shared or used for any other purpose.
